Biography
Ruth Albuquerque provides legal support to local boards of education and school districts. With a strong foundation in higher education law, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive legal support to local boards of education and school districts. She navigates complex legal issues surrounding board governance, statutory compliance, and labor relations. She is committed to advocating for the rights of students and educational institutions, striving to create a supportive and legally compliant environment for all.
Ruth handles complex legal issues related to board governance, statutory compliance, and labor relations. She also provides professional development training for clients to enhance their understanding of legal frameworks, and plays an active role in negotiations as labor counsel for school boards.
Ruth remains involved in monitoring special education matters where litigation may arise. She attends mediations to advise special education staff on legal procedures and best practices, ensuring compliance in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support for differently abled students.
While in law school, Ruth worked as a Student Attorney in the UNH Law Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic. She gained hands-on experience in intellectual property law by preparing filings with the USPTO and managing client relationships. This role enhanced her ability to collaborate with clients and opposing counsel, further refining her legal expertise.
Ruth also completed an externship in the Office of the General Counsel at Northeast Delta Dental, where she interpreted insurance regulations and amended corporate documents, while also researching complex legal issues such as the Physician Self-Referral Law and Anti-Kickback Statute.
